You know, after seeing that chicken countless times I got an idea. There needs to be an extra/easter egg mission with the chicken(s) and it should be called “Come to Papi”.

  • godblin

Hahaha this one was great! I was roflmaopimping :D Don’t mix up Double Digital with Digital Double though!

  • uLu_MuLu

Hilarious! Pleas continue with these Video Bloggs. I am looking forward for them every week…

    Greetings from Germany

    ulu

  • Max

I’m guessing that there will be lots of monster units (such as trolls) in the game and normal (/human) units as well. Will there be human units that have attack bonuses against monster units? Will there be normal and elite units? Will normal units gain experience (and become elite units)?

  • Bert from Belgium

That fat ogre/troll looks cool, outsourcing certainly seems very important.
Will there be random monster nests on the map like the troll?

  • Gustaphsum41

Aaah no crackdown e-mails this week
    kinda dissapointing… but okay

the troll was pretty cool, be looking forward to playing with it.

so as Albert Wolliver said is it possible that the units will change in any way
    as the kill units?

i am still waiting a response about what i said regarding the dragon growing up
if that’s just too hard maybe then some kind of upgrade would be cool enough

  • JNapoleon of Russia

The troll looks awesome guys, great work on that. I especially like the idea of a nautical troll, its very original. @Max I agree with you on the monster vs. human units. There should be some kind of training or upgrade to make the units elite.

  • ADMNtek

they coud use a system like in supcom2 to make low level units more powerfull.
i woud like to know how many units you can have at a time. just around 100 or more than 1000 supcom1 style

  • Piquedram

    yay for the cyclops!!
and i’d love that teleportation iPhone app if you please ;)

  • Kamal

Awesome! Thanks for the great promo Chris!!
We look forward to continuing to kick out awesome content for you guys! :)

  • Thrawn

That guys Neo had a great idea please make that mission. Oh and I know that this is for KaC but could you give us an update on what the future for SC2 modding support, soon as you give us that your services will not be required.

  • r4m53s

Chris Taylor is very diffrent than the other producer in the gameindustry and he drives a nice strategy

  • Jn1135

Can’t wait for this. Looks great. I wonder what the research system will be like. More like Supcom 1 or 2. Or something totally different.

  • gGeorg

Nice as usual. I wouldn’t expect less :-)
    Question:
Would This Monster Troll, when meet enemy basic Soldiers say, : “It’s my Lunch!” by Your, ChrisT. voice?

Thanks a lot and meet on The Came-a-lot

  • Pino

I need Chris Taylor to be in this game, as a character or whatever… IT IS VITAL

  • JimmyHill

I will not beta that teleportation software, Chris.

  • Max

One more question (nothing to do with this week’s video blog though):

Can archers/ siege weapons miss? If so, can accuracy be improved by researching a technology?

  • Joel Bennett

Hah, nice! Did I spy Digital Double using Maya? Definitely fun stuff to play with. I had access to it for a class in University and found 3D modelling to be quite relaxing. Nice job on skinning the troll, especially that jiggly belly.

I too, won’t beta the teleportation software. Heck, I’d probably wait for at least the third or fourth revision.

    “It’s ma lunch!”

  • Predator

@Max, they may just make it so units gain more health when they kill a certain amount of units(veteran units), like they did in supcom. Did they do that in supcom 1 or 2 ? I honestly forget…

  • Olivier

I would like to know from a technical perspective what are the moho engine limitations in its current state (regarding the number of units that can be displayed, moved simultaneously without slowing down the simulation) and if there is room for improvement by making use of more than 1 or 2 cores. Is it something considered as a next major improvement for future GPG games and is it sense less ?

  • Chris

what will he races be in this game?

  • Riley Manns-Taylor

Definatly like that troll. Good work with the blogs Chris

  • Alec

I know its quite early, but have plans been made on the counter system among the units and magic? Aside the predictable pikes beat cavalry and bows beat infantry, are there going to be counters of special abilities, the magical units, and just magic in general? Will each of those have a viable counter? As in, a nice rock, paper, and scissors kind of system, which any unit or ability could be countered by another unit or ability of the same tech/cost tier, would be especially excellent for the strategy perspective. Nice job so far! Looking forward to its release. :)

  • Thrawn

Alec, in case your question isnt answered I will take a shot at it. In the GPG’s past games they all used whats called soft counters. Which means that if two units can fight each other the stronger unit will always win. So unlike hard counters if where if one army is comprised of scissors and a weaker army is comprised of rocks the rocks wont always win. Thats one of the many reasons I like there RTS’s so much.

  • laurawelch

This was a hilarious post. After saw this blog i got idea about this post. Great idea you shared in this Double Digital blog. The video effects are awesome.

    new films

  • Albert Wolliver

I really got felling of open my after effects and try do some nice effects like that … hehehe.

The idea for taunts from monster would be very good, like the it’s my lunch.

This tecnology is always good when you need to improve the way characters move/attack … make us to believe they are trully alive.

  • x4127

just a question will the dragons be able to fly all the time of well they only to be able to jump and fly for a short time so that dont need bridges to be built they just fly over the crack

  • Alec

Thrawn, thanks for taking a shot. I suppose that makes sense. However, I like many others, I have found it annoying to see one (or possibly more) unit spams or combos to be so overpowering, it ruins an entire RTS game. RTS games that don’t have overpowered abilities and units turn out to be great games that still remain popular to play online, years after their release. As this type of game seems to be right up my alley, I think it would be nice to know if Chris and the GPG team plan on making and supporting an efficient counter system, for this isn’t a game that I’d like to see drop dead online.

  • Eric

Here is a question: How much work will go into walls around your castle? By this I mean: will there only one type of wall, or will fortifications be something beyond a static obstacle, easily replaceable with trees or especially stoic bunnies?

Or, will the “Castles” part of Kings and Castles, be multiple wall types, multiple tower types, walkable walls, etc. One could do, multiple wall heights (Cosmetic and practical, depending on use) or covered walls (Stone or wood covered or enclosed).

  • StrongDad

But isn’t your car in your backpack? ;)

  • Donovan Evertsen

You may believe that I have a secret agenda.

  • graphic design careers

I unquestionably accept everything you have explained. In fact, I browsed throughout your other content articles and I do believe you happen to be absolutely correct. Best wishes with this particular blog.
